As of the middle of 2014, some hardware has been field tested.  In Haiti, systems have been put together with the following:

  • Net gear mbr1210 3G modem ($50, and many available on Ebay — used by Bell in Canada) — more details
  • Huwei E3131 USB modem is readily available in Haiti, and works with $130/year Digicel 10GB/month plan (locked to be usable only with Digicel sims)
  • TpLink 842N wifi router/Access Point ($20 on Amazon)
  • Intel NUC D34010WYK ($290 without memory or hard disk)

This page will eventually catalog the experiences of various deployments with various CPUs.
